Deep Ambitions Career Fair at Dive & Travel Expo

For the first time in 25 years, the Deep Ambitions Career Fair coincides with the Dive & Travel Expo on May 3. This will be a one-of-a-kind event in Tacoma. Aside from targeting the 26,000 scuba divers plunging into Tacoma’s portion of Puget Sound each year, the career fair aims to broaden students’ perceptions on the types of career opportunities that are available to them. With this, the future scuba divers of America can get submerged in many career paths of aquatic professions at Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center.

Event director and publisher of Northwest Dive News Rick Stratton said the purpose of the career fair is to make the young generation excited about future occupations and open up their option to work in aquatic fields.

Deep Ambitions is a free, four-hour aquatics career fair that showcases marine-related careers and dive lifestyles to youth ages 12 to 18. Participants will be able to learn a variety of job opportunities such as dive instruction, traveling sales representatives, dive resort reviewers, marine journalists, and artists. There will also be a tour to the dive expo, an art session on underwater environment with renowned artist Rogest, and free scuba diving at the on-site heated pool.
