Scuba Diver who died off Manalua Bay, Identified


SATURDAY, 28 JULY 2007

A 60-year-old woman who died while on a scuba diving trip yesterday has been identified as Kathleen Aure of Oakland, California.

Aure, who was on a scuba dving trip off Maunalua Bay, was found unresponsive according to police dispatch. Aure was on a diving boat near Turtle Canyon, a popular Hawaii Kai diving spot famous for its numerous turtles and fish.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for city Emergency Medical Services, said that she was pronounced dead at Straud Hospital. An autopsy was scheduled yesterday to know the cause of death.
