SATURDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 2007
Two tourists who went diving and fishing were stranded in Pulau Jarak after their boat was allegedly shot by Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.
According to the boat captain, Loh Khoy Lee, the agency boat signaled to them requesting to communicate but could not do so since the boat's radio was damaged. One of his men informs the agency vessel but was shot while returning to the boat.
Loh and his crew returned to the area after one hour to look for the tourists. The two local tourists had been staying in the island since Monday for some fishing and diving activities.
