Two-day Underwater Photo and Video Weekend Seminar
MONDAY, 18 DECEMBER 2006
The Northern California Underwater Photographic Society (NCUPS.org), in conjunction with Backscatter Underwater Video and Photo of Monterey, and Wallin's Dive Center of San Carlos, proudly presents a very special FREE two-day underwater photo and video weekend seminar with world-renowned underwater digital photography expert, Berkley White. The two-day event begins with the 'Underwater Imaging Today- seminar, on Friday evening, January12, 2007, from 8:00 p.m. - 10 p.m. in Millbrae. On Saturday, January 13, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Wallin's Dive Center 10,000-gallon heated pool, in San Carlos, Berkley continues with five hours of intensive hands-on, in-water product training, tips, pointers and demonstrations using the latest underwater photography and videography systems for every skill level.
In recent years, hi-tech advances in scuba equipment and diver training, combined with unrelenting nature and underwater television programming on the History, Travel and Discovery Channels, has peaked interest in scuba diving to the point that ‘eco-tourists' spend between $18 to $20 Billion Dollars on international scuba travel annually. Similar hi-tech advances in digital camera and underwater camera housing technology have led to radically reduced equipment costs and the simplification of the underwater image-capture process to the point that the number of scuba divers taking up underwater photography and videography, and photographers and videographers taking up scuba diving, seem to almost double each year.
But, how does one capture the best underwater photos and/or video footage and what's the right equipment for me? Berkley White is a leading internationally published professional photographer, instructor and expert in the field of underwater photography and videography and the founder of Backscatter Underwater Photo and Video in Monterey, California, the largest specialty underwater photographic supplier in the U.S. Berkley shares his in-field photographic techniques and digital methods through a series of select international travel events each year, such as the Digital Shootout.
Snorkelers to novice and advanced scuba divers will come away from Berkley White's 'Underwater Imaging Today- intensive two-day seminar with a wealth of knowledge that will have them shooting better pictures to helping them make the right equipment choice for their specific shooting needs.
Attendees may attend either one or both parts of the 'Underwater Imaging Today- weekend seminar. Cost is FREE to attend either part.
