my hood never fails to turn into balloon every single time i wear it! it feels good wearing it & it's really great at depths. But the moment i take my final ascent, it fills up every time! Although this happens only during my ascent, but NEVER when i'm underwater. What do you think is wrong with my hood?

Take a nail & heat it up until it's red hot. Then poke 3 or 4 holes on top of your diving hood. Then u wont have problems with it anymore. This is true because it worked for me.

My friend also tried to straighten out a hanger hook & heated it with a match. Then he poked a hole as the very top of his hood. It worked for him!!

What position do you take everytime you ascend? Your answer to that question will tell u where the highest point in your hood is while you are ascending. Then you can poke another hole there for the gas to exhaust...

Most of the time, i ascend vertically & the flow hole is directly on top. But unfortunately & for whatever reasons.... it is not serving its purpose!!!

Anyway, maybe they're right! I think i will just poke some holes on it using a hot nail. Or i think i can install a dump valve!

U need something hot to work on it. I tried to use matches. And it took me like 7-8 matches to make the hole go all the way through. im glad it worked!

i also tried to make several vents in my other diving hoods using scissors. so that whatever position i may be, there'll still be an escape path for the hood gas!

Like what was mentioned several times & like what most divers do to repair their diving equipment, I used a hot nail to repair mine! but i added a small amount of aquaseal to the holes. That would prevent them from fraying, stretching, and getting bigger.
