hi. i've been diving for yrs and i havent been to Thailand yet. now im looking for loads of advice from u all (if youve ever been there). can u recommend a good base pt. or diving spot? i want to be a lil adventurous this time. any spots u know where there are actual sharks swimming around? and where wreck diving can be done?
other divers may instatly suggest Phuket. but if i were u, il go to Koh Tao to start off your dive vacation. it's much cheaper there than in Phuket & there are endless choices for hotel/vacation accomodations & dive centers; very good night life and amazing scenery too! but as for the sharks haha u can go to Chumpon, even whale sharks are out there. trust me on this redford, u cant go wrong when diving in Thailand, no matter what.
you might want to try phi phi also. that's where the movie the beach was shot. although i'm not sure of the budget you have to bring there since it's all-commercialized by the movie and all.
Aww!! i haven't been to Thailand yet, not even my friends have gone there for a diving vacation. Would you guys know how many beaches they have and if it is a good place to dive?
