Diving Masks - Proper Care and Maintenance
Wearing a Diving Mask is very important for clear visibility underwater. Thus, you should take good care of it, especially when not in use. You do not actually need some special skills on how to maintain your Diving Mask in its good condition. Just be sure not to disregard it.
In this section, take a look at some tips on Proper Care and Maintenance of Diving Masks:
- After use, make sure to rinse it with fresh water to wash away all the residues accumulated in the mask after diving in saltwater. Hang it to dry, but not in direct sunlight. Make sure that it is completely dry before storage.
- If your Diving Mask keeps on fogging up, buy some solution that has anti-fogging properties. Apply it on the inside of the lens and then rinse it thoroughly.
- Avoid having scratches in your lens by always putting it face up.
- Store it properly when not in use. Put it in its own case.
- Do not put anything heavy on top of your Diving Mask.
- When you descend, equalize. Otherwise, the increase in water pressure makes your mask to be pushed onto your face, giving you discomfort and even bloodshot eyes.
In general, all it takes is common sense. Ensure that your Diving Mask is properly cared of to maximize its purpose on your dives.
