Open Water Training
At this point, you will show what you have learned in the previous training. Initial Open Water Training can happen in a lake or sea. You will have an idea of what a real Diving environment is.
You will be given a briefing on everything that you will do and what to expect on the dive. This is usually called a dive plan, and you must adhere to it.
- Buddy Checks should be done before getting underwater.
- After informing each other that there is no problem, descend to the depth according to the dive plan.
- You are now ready to perform the tests.
- To ascend safely, make sure to inform your partner that you are ready to ascend. Keep track of each other as you slowly move towards the surface.
- It is important to turn around to make sure that the area is clear.
- As you reach the water surface, raise one arm to protect you against unseen boats.
- Give the OK signal to your partner the moment you reach the surface. Check if there are boats or surface craft coming in your direction.
- Return to the shore where a debriefing will take place. At this point, you will review what had happened on your dive. If you have experienced some problems when you were underwater, or there are some things that are not clear to you, do not forget to inform your instructor.
This is a great Basic Dive Training and part of a Scuba Diving Certification course to prepare yourself on your first real dive. Just remember everything you have learned, stick to the dive plan, and make sure to use your Scuba Diving Gear properly.
